Our violin, viola, cello, and upright bass rentals are professionally inspected, adjusted, and maintained by experienced luthiers. Whether your child is joining a school orchestra or beginning private lessons, we make renting a quality instrument easy and affordable.

Rent Online in 4 Easy Steps
Step 1 – Choose Your Instrument
Select a professionally set up violin, viola, cello, or upright bass from our Standard Rental collection. Choose the appropriate instrument size for your student.
Step 2 – Enter Your Student's Information
During online checkout, enter your student's name and school in the designated fields.
Step 3 – Complete Your Rental Online
Add your instrument to the shopping cart and securely complete your payment online. Your initial payment covers the first four months of rental.
Step 4 – We Prepare and Deliver Your Instrument
Every rental instrument is professionally inspected and adjusted before delivery. Our team prepares your instrument, bow, case, and included accessories.
We provide FREE delivery to participating local schools. No additional phone call is required for standard school delivery.

Should I Rent or Purchase an Instrument?
Renting is an excellent choice for beginners and growing students.
A properly set up instrument can make a meaningful difference in a student's playing experience. At Wexford Violin Shop, our rental instruments are professionally prepared to support comfortable playing and musical development.
Renting also allows students to change instrument sizes as they grow without purchasing a new instrument each time.
Our Rent-to-Own program offers an additional benefit by allowing eligible rental payments to count toward a future purchase.
How Does Rent-to-Own Work?
Our Rent-to-Own program allows 90% of eligible rental payments to be applied toward the purchase of a qualifying new instrument.
Rental credit may accumulate for up to 36 months. The purchased instrument must be of the same type and of equal or greater value, as specified in the rental agreement.
Rental credit must be used within 30 days after the final rental renewal period ends.
Additional terms and restrictions apply. Please refer to your rental agreement for complete details.
What Is Included in the Damage Protection Plan?
Our Damage Protection Plan is included in the rental price at no additional monthly charge.
First Accidental Damage Incident
Wexford Violin Shop covers 100% of covered repair or replacement costs.
Each Subsequent Accidental Damage Incident
The renter is responsible for 50% of covered repair or replacement costs.
Coverage applies to qualifying accidental damage involving the rented instrument, bow, and case.
Loss, theft, intentional damage, and string replacement are not covered.
Normal maintenance and adjustments, including peg adjustments and repairs to open seams or loose fingerboards, are included for rental accounts in good standing, subject to the rental agreement.
Are Rental Instruments Professionally Set Up?
Yes! Every rental instrument is professionally inspected and set up by our experienced luthiers.
We pay careful attention to instrument condition, playability, and setup so students can begin learning with an instrument that is properly prepared.
Unlike a general music store, Wexford Violin Shop specializes in string instruments and professional luthier services.
Our commitment to proper instrument setup extends from beginner student rentals to professional instrument repairs and restoration.
How Do I Choose the Right Instrument Size?
Choosing the correct size is important for comfortable playing and developing proper technique.
We recommend consulting your child's school orchestra teacher or private instructor.
Our experienced staff can also help determine the appropriate violin, viola, cello, or upright bass size.
Can I Exchange My Instrument for a Larger Size?
Yes! You may exchange your rental instrument for another size of the same instrument type at no additional exchange charge.
Each replacement instrument is professionally inspected and set up before being provided to the student.
Your rental agreement and payment history continue without interruption.
What Is Included with My Rental Instrument?
Our Standard Rental outfits include a professionally set up string instrument, an appropriate bow, a case, and applicable accessories.

Can I Rent More Than One Instrument?
Absolutely! Families may rent multiple instruments. Each instrument rental is processed as a separate agreement.
How Does Free School Delivery Work?
During online checkout, enter your student's name and school in the designated fields.
Once your order is completed, we professionally prepare your rental instrument and arrange delivery to the participating school.
There is no need to call the store to provide credit card information or arrange standard school delivery.
Free school delivery is available to participating local schools. Please contact us if your school is not listed.
When Does Monthly Billing Begin?
Your initial payment covers the first four months of rental.

What Happens If I Want to Stop Renting?
You may return your rental instrument at any time.

We recommend returning your instrument at least four days before your next billing date to allow time for processing and to avoid another monthly charge.
